As someone that has had quite an experience when it comes to marketing and am sure many of those that have been in the industry for quite a long time will agree that advertising is definitely a strong part of marketing a product and/or services. Undoubtedly there will and are many books out in the market that will teach you indepth secrets to marketing based on their on respective experience and fields. Knowing this I would like to help you get started though with 5 basic and easy to follow Advertising Tips that is and always will be a foundation to all the advertising advices experts on the topic would give.
  1. Be consistent in your ad message and style including business cards, letterhead, envelopes, invoices, signs and banners.

  2. Newspapers, radio and TV stations are helpful in producing the advertising that you will be running with them.

  3. While word-of-mouth advertising has been around a long time, it usually falls short of being able to attract the number of customers needed to be successful in business.

  4. Promote benefits rather than features. A benefit is the emotional satisfaction your product or service provides, or a tangible performance characteristic.

  5. Know your competitors. Knowing everything about your competitors is just as important as knowing everything about your own business.


Most important of all though is to keep in mind that there is no solid theory on advertising and though now a lot of people are turning to a new medium called PR (Public Relations) Advertising when used properly and with practice has a powerful impact on how consumers view a product and thus influence their choices.
