This post, however, will attempt to ignore any and all news pertaining to anyone having anything to do with Hannah Montana, and present a fantasy cast for Fade
The first new character in this book is Stacey O'Grady, another senior girl at school with Janie and Cabel. She is a self-proclaimed chemistry nerd, but apparently has attracted the, er... attentions of
Kidding. Totally kidding. I had you for a minute, though, right? Seriously, though, I picture somebody more like Gemma Ward. Something about those doe eyes makes me think she would be as vulnerable as this girl is, you know?
Mr. Durbin is the chemistry teacher at the middle of a bit of a scandal. I won't go into details, but I am sure you can figure that all out on your own. He's young (25 years old or so) and apparently pretty attractive. According to him, his students are attracted to him "all the time". I pictured somebody like Orlando Bloom. Kind of a roguish type of guy, no? He looks young- younger than he actually is. And he's a handsome devil. And I think I'd like to see him in a part that doesn't require a sword. Just to shake things up a bit.
Mr. Wang (not "Teacher Wang" *snicker*) is an incompetent psychology teacher who spends a lot of free time hanging out at Mr. Durbin's house. Janie's un-crackable detective code lists him as "Doc". As in a dwarf's name. Although, later in the book we find out that he likes Mos Def and has rippling abdominals. How about Jason Tobin?
Coach Jim Crater is the third teacher that we spend entirely too much time with in this book. He's not specifically described, but I pictured somebody older and a little less attractive than the other two guys. Kind of a Philip Seymour Hoffman type-guy. And I KNOW, Philip Seymour Hoffman is the total shiz and is way too important/ famous/ highly paid to play a two-bit part like this, but since there is no such thing as a "Philip Seymour Hoffman type" there is only one "Philip Seymour Hoffman", this is who I pick:
And, on a related note, I just know that my husband would be severely disappointed if I did not include what is (in his opinion) PSH's greatest work ever caught on film:
