International Senior Tournament in Sweden
1-6th June at the Venue Täby Park Hotel, in Stockholm, Sweden

The Scandinavian Chess Tournament (SCT) is announcing the International Senior Tournament, which will take place on 1-6th June at the Venue Täby Park Hotel, in Stockholm, Sweden.

The tournament is open for men of the age 60 or older and ladies of the age 50 or older. Tournament format is seven-round FIDE Swiss system, and the time limit is two hours per player per game to finish. The results will be rated with FIDE.

Besides the regular prize fund of 5000 EUR, there will be gift prizes in the value of 3000 EUR. Money prizes: 1st prize € 1000, 2nd prize € 800, 3rd € 600, and so on in descending order 500 €, 400 €, 300 €, 250 €, 150 €. Prizes are not shared.

Playing schedule:
Round 1 starts June 1 at. 16:30
Round 2 starts June 2 at. 11:00
Round 3 starts June 2 at. 16:30
Round 4 starts June 3 at. 11:00
Round 5 starts June 4 at. 11:00
Round 6 starts June 5 at. 11:00
Round 7 starts June 6 at. 11:00

The European Senior Champ in Courmayeur (Aosta Valley) ended with the win of GM Mihai Suba from Romania.

The female title was won by GM Nona Gaprindashvili (on tiebreaks) in spite of her defeat in the last round against the Italian Antonio Rosino. Mr Rosino won the national senior title for the 5th time.
