Hey all, just wanted to remind you that I'll be attending the Comix & Stories show this weekend. It's free admission, so if you're in or around the area, you should come!This reminded me of the last time I was in Vancouver -- for the Vancouver Comicon last year -- and what a good time it was. It also reminded me that I never did do a post about it like I was going to, so here it is, almost a year later.If you're flying up from the Bay Area to Vancouver, you'll get a magnificent view of Crater Lake in Oregon.The Vancouver airport greets you with this pretty awesome display.A shot from the show.Remember Kim Hoang from the look-a-like contest? The second place winner as the Nancy look-a-like? Well, she was at the show! She's also a cartoonist. Anyway, I also met her boyfriend, and he turned out to look exactly like Simon! (At least the way I picture him my head.) So naturally, I had to take a picture of them posing like the cover of Same Difference. Another shot from inside the show. The building had beautiful interiors.A Power Girl sketch I did for someone.The bathroom had a very...unique...urinal. Luckily I never had to piss next to someone at this thing. I'd be mortified of accidentally "crossing the streams" and destroying the entire universe.The exterior of the building where the show was held. It was gorgeous. If I remember correctly, someone local told me it used to be an old post office.You crack me up, Vancouver.I love Canada.The view from my hotel room. Breathtaking.And finally, what's a convention without a little gambling? Apparently, Steve Rolston is also a gambling fiend and makes these home-made gizmos to swindle money out of poor unsuspecting con-goers. But you can't outgamble a Korean. I owned 'im. Those 3 loonies? MINE.Well, hope to see some of you at the Comix & Stories Show. My big big thanks to Leonard Wong for having me at both these shows!
