Day 23: A Book I've Wanted To Read

It's been recommended.

It's been highly recommended.

It's been oh-my-gosh-I-cannot-believe-you-of-all-people-have-not-read-this recommended.

It has been recommended by the most trusted of sources, some less-trusted sources, perfect strangers, and Goodreads, multiple times. Most people are baffled when they learn that I have not picked up this book series, because it falls right in line with my typical reads (i.e. people wear cloaks)

I've even check this book out from the library, looked at the cover, decided it looked kinda boring, read other things, realized it was due back, tried to renew it, couldn't because there was a waiting list, shrugged my shoulders and returned it without opening the cover.

A few weeks later, I realized they were adapting this book into what looks to be Boromir the TV Series on HBO, and I could kick myself for not having read this book when I had the chance.

Game of Thrones, the first book in the A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R.R. Martin is a book I have wanted to read for a long, long time, and just haven't. For no good reason, either.

Don't worry... I went back in to the library and put myself back on the waiting list. I'm currently number twenty seven...

On a related note, I wish I had cable.

A blogging friend of mine posted a bookish meme, after reading it on another blogging friend's site. I can't not participate! This post was written as the first post in the 30 Days of Books.
